Historic windows, founder, historic doors, restore wood windows, restore steel windows

About Me:

My business, True North Preservation, LLC, is a dream born out of a simple passion for helping people rediscover the beauty and function of their historic windows and doors. As an SOI-Qualified Architectural Historian with extensive restoration experience, I approach each project from a perspective that combines hands-on training with a comprehensive knowledge of historic buildings and the built environment.

On a compass, True North is the fixed direction that points to the geographic location of the North Pole. In business, the term “True North” refers to someone’s values, or the principles that remain constant when new challenges emerge and paths diverge. The core values behind my company include honesty, integrity, and a true commitment to finding the best path forward for sustainably preserving our past.

I fell in love with Missouri while studying at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and visiting family in southeast Missouri. Working on the restoration of early Missouri structures laid the groundwork for my work in the historic trades, which I then was able to use towards a specialization in window and door restoration when I returned to my hometown of Detroit several years ago. After moving back to Missouri and working as an Architectural Historian for a government office, I decided to take a leap of faith and follow my heart back into the historic trades, this time as a businesswoman and the chief operator of True North Preservation. Give me a call today and let’s talk about how I can help make your windows and doors shine again!
